Some Legumes are “Paleo”-Steak is not! I love making fun of trendy diets.

Yes-in the Southwest, many Legumes were consumed including Mesquite, Palo Verde, and Ironwood-so much for the “Legumes are not Paleo” screeching. Many Legumes have also been consumed forever in many other parts of the world; Also, Steak from bovines wasn’t a thing in those days since cattle weren’t even domesticated in that era, and only relatives of cattle existed in small corners of the world back then, so maybe Steak adjacent foods were consumed in small amounts in some regions. Also, most evidence shows that earlier diets were often more plant based than current diets (with a few exceptions). Fruits were heavily consumed in many areas too-gotta love all those bioflavonoid antioxidants and other nutrients. We do need carbs-I do agree that staying away from processed foods and high glycemic sugars is a good thing of course, but I’m all about the whole multicolored fruits and veggies thing and eating low on the food chain. Sorry to burst yet another sacred marketing fad bubble ;)
