Whitney Canyon is absolutely amazing

Right off the intersection of the 5 and 14 freeways in Santa Clarita is an absolutely amazing and biodiverse Canyon where I will be leading a fabulous medicinal and edible wild plant walk on Sunday 2/16 at 10 am. This easy 1 mile each way walk will last 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours and will cover a wide variety of wild plants and their traditional and modern uses. We will meet at the parking lot below the park and ride at the end of Newhall Drive off the 14 freeway. Plants discussed will include Lomatium, Cottonwood, Wooly leaf Yerba Santa, California Sagebrush, Mexican Elderberry, Willow, Ceanothus, Miners Lettuce, Yellow Dock, Mustard, Chickweed, Black Sage, Purple Sage, Cleavers, Coast Live Oak, California Blackberry, Currant, Coyote Mint, California Mugwort, Plantain, and more. The suggested donation for my time and effort is a very reasonable $15-20. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you, William
