Amazing fabulous walk in Rice Canyon on Sunday 1/26/20

Hey fellow Herb Nerds: On Sunday, 1/26/20 at 10 am, I will be leading a wild edible and medicinal plant walk in Rice Canyon in Santa Clarita. We will meet at the trailhead to Rice and East Canyon. This walk will be 3/4 of a mile in each direction and last from 10 am (when we start) to about 12:30 pm. Rice Canyon is on the Old Road (actual name of the street) about 1 mile south of the Calgrove exit off highway 5 just past the church. Park on the road to avoid paying for parking. There are no restrooms here (sorry). This is an amazingly biodiverse location. Plants discussed will include Yellow Dock, California Blackberry, Coast Live Oak, California Black Walnut, Milk Thistle, California Mugwort, California Sagebrush, California Wild Rose, Mustard, Plantain, Miners Lettuce, Chickweed, Cleavers, Black Sage, Yerba Santa, White Sage, Mexican Elderberry, Horehound, California Bay Laurel, Sweet Cicely, Stinging Nettles, and more.

The suggested donation is $20 ($15 for regulars and those low on funds). Preregistration is not required for this walk, but let me know if you are coming with a large group.

Please let me know if you have any questions, William
